Thais Linhares, who was born in Rio de Janeiro in 1970, make literature, cartoon, and comics. 

She started her career in 1988, at the age of 17, working at a comic book studio, an advertising agency, and for a big publisher.

Also specialized in Human Rights at the Federal University of Brasília – UNB, and got a Master in Communication at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro, ECO-UFRJ. Outstanding awards: the one from the Secretary of Culture of the State of Rio de Janeiro – SEC-RJ for a script for an animated feature movie; the Jabuti Prize, the highest award in literature in Brazil for my illustration work; the White Ravens Catalog from the Munich Library; Neide Castanha Human Rights Award, for those dedicated to defending the rights of children and adolescents through culture; Article 19 Award (Anti-racist cartoon, 2019) and the Odyssée for Foreign Artist Residency – ACCR: Cultural Centers of France (2020).
