A directive from the Philippines Department of Education plans to change the term "Marcos Dictatorship" to simply "Dictatorship" in the MATATAG Grade 6 Social Studies Curriculum. This is a subtle attempt to slowly whitewash the role of Ferdinand Marcos in the crimes of the Martial Law period in the history courses in Philippines schools.
