The Fat Lady Warms Up

Whoever thought it was a genius move for Trump to square off with Biden before the convention is probably drafting their resignation letter, ready to dive into the Potomac with rocks stuffed in their pockets. Last night was a massacre, and there’s no sugar-coating it—this was Trump’s worst debate performance ever, period. Believe it or not, it might’ve been even worse than the infamous Trump-Biden showdown. At least back then, Biden was doing half the work by stumbling into his own punches. But last night? Trump went off the rails, and Kamala took him to school.

Kamala set up easy traps, and Trump walked right into every single one. His optics were a disaster from start to finish. In 2016, Trump had at least the façade of populism—sure, it was a con, but he had the instincts and debating chops to back it up. Now, he’s no different from that uncle ranting on Facebook. This is what happens when your inner circle consists of Corey Lewandowski, Laura Loomer, Elon Musk, and his own sons, and you refuse to leave the conservative echo chamber. Trump’s rants last night? Most normal people had no clue what he was even talking about. He sounded unhinged.

Simply put, his brain is poisoned. Poisoned by Twitter, poisoned by Fox News, and poisoned by the disbelief of losing the last election.
