The Scottish Question

This year Scotland will vote on independence from the UK. The Scottish Government wishes to remain an EU member, but will a breakaway state be welcomed? My cartoon addresses the Scottish question as answered (or not) by President Hollande and Prime Minister Rajoy. The latter in particular has worries about the independence movement in Catalonia. This cartoon is part of an exhibition on the Scottish independence referendum entitled "The Auld Acquaintance", currently being shown at the Centre International de la Caricature, du Dessin de Presse et d'Humour, Saint-Just-le-Martel, France.
