Toomaj Salehi, an Iranian rapper and human rights activist, has been sentenced to death on charges of "corruption on earth" by the Revolutionary Court of Isfahan. These charges are due to his involvement in public protests and criticisms against the Iranian government, particularly in support of the protests following the death of Mahsa Amini. Despite being temporarily released on bail in November 2023 after enduring severe torture during detention, his death sentence was confirmed in April 2024 amid growing international criticisms of the suppression of artists and advocates for freedom of expression in Iran.
