Corporate Democrats New Yard Sign

1. Harris and the Democrats ran to the right of Biden on immigration—a pretty amazing feat, given that Biden was already a hawk on the border. Sure, they’re not openly calling for alligator-filled moats, like Trump, or floating razor-wire buoys in the Rio Grande like Texas Governor Greg Abbott, but that’s not exactly a badge of honor. By abandoning immigrants—a group Democrats used to proudly support—they drove away key supporters.

2. Then Harris ditched her “joy and inclusion” routine, where she’d call out the right for being, well, weird, and threw herself into photo-ops with Liz Cheney. Yes, that Liz Cheney, who voted with Trump 92% of the time and carries a political dynasty name that most people on the left view as shorthand for endless war. This was when the writing was on the wall: defeating a self-proclaimed wannabe dictator wasn’t going to be easy. The Republican Party was hurtling off the rails, and instead of pushing back, Democrats let the Overton window shift rightward, turning themselves into a GOP throwback from the early 2000s. Why would Republicans vote for a Democrat-lite when they could get the real thing? This pandering won’t end well; it’ll end with them stamped out of history.

3. Corporate Democrats are now blaming Harris’s loss on trans people—yes, on one of the most marginalized groups in the country, for daring to speak up about their basic rights. The sheer lack of self-awareness here is pathetic, and pinning this on the trans and LGBT community will turn off even more voters next time.

4. The “Blue MAGA” faction is becoming as unhinged as the Trump side. Sure, they’re not spouting off about Jewish space lasers, child sex cults, or Haitian immigrants feasting on pets, but now they’re seriously claiming millions of votes were stolen from Harris. The same conspiracy-theory playbook, just with blue cover art.

5. If there’s anything corporate Democrats seem to hate more than Trump, it’s their own base. Over and over, they spit in the face of the very people who got them into power. If they keep treating their supporters like an inconvenience, they’ll lose them forever, and good luck winning them back.

6. Harris dodged the question of genocide in Gaza, too. Not only did she avoid taking any kind of hard stand, but she flat-out ignored desperate calls from Palestinians and their leaders. Political cowardice on full display.

7. He failed to make climate change any kind of a priority. Maybe that’s fine for the Boomers who’ll be six feet under when the real havoc starts, but young people are begging for some sort of reassurance, for any indication that their future matters. Instead, they got silence.

8. Finally, we’ve got Democratic strategists seriously claiming that Biden wouldn’t have lost to the fascist Cheeto.I don’t need to go further on that one—anyone who still believes that must be operating on a different planet.

The Democratic Party has some hard reckoning to do. If they don’t abandon this path—the one that looks like a cover band for Bush-era Republicans—they’re bound to go the way of the Federalists and the Whigs.

If the campaign had focused more heavily on the economy, that would also have benefited it heavily.
