The Asian American Community And Their Worries About Donald Trump

Many Asian Americans have several worries about a second Donald Trump term as President.

Two big worries:

After seeing Trump make deals with Vladmir Putin and Benjamin Netanyahu to end conflicts in Ukraine and Gaza in their terms without any participation from Ukrainians or Palestinians, many Asians and Asian Americans worry about whether Trump would make deals with China over the West Philippine Sea, Taiwan and ignore human rights abuses in areas that need attention.

During the last year of his first term of office, Trump scapegoated Asian Americans for the Covid crisis. Trump's rhetoric led to a surge in anti-Asian hate crimes.

With Trump's anti-immigrant rhetoris, Asian Americans are very vulnerable to being targeted once again for violence and harassment.
