Tjeerd, yes, it isn't fair, but on Oct 7, Hamas held Israelis collectively responsible, videos show random Gazans crossing the border and looting Israeli houses, and videos show Gazans celebrating in the streets and doing nothing to stop the desecration of bodies of Israelis paraded in the streets, and Gazans have been holding hostages in their homes and have been providing shelter for Hamas. Israel's policy (at least its official policy) is fighting Hamas not Gaza as a whole, which is why Israel has taken heavy losses of soldiers doing door to door searches instead of just bombing all of Gaza.

@William, it's interesting how, in all your comments, you seem to hold Gaza collectively responsible responsible for the atrocities of October 7, in the same way that the Israeli government seems to do. Hamas has committed murder, but it seems justified that all of Gaza (including the children) should pay the price. Is this justified? I do not think so.

Where was international justice for what Gaza did to Israel on Oct 7 and continues doing, holding hostages and firing missiles indiscriminately into Israeli cities?
