Concrete

I was still in college when this happened, CPI had granted land in Singur to the TATA’s to build their NANO plant. Mamta Bannerjee’s made a huge issue of land being taken from farmers and shut down the plant, made the TATA’s exit W.Bengal and won the elections. By then the concrete was poured and land was no longer cultivable. The farmers whose such land was returned are now lamenting their fate, while Mamta is trying regrow the seed of TMC from this constituency.
