California Slaves

Remember back in November when California voted to keep slavery legal? This is what I was talking about. We voted to allow the state to continue using inmates as firefighters. Thirty percent of the people fighting fires here are inmates, yet none of them are allowed to become firefighters after serving their sentences. On top of that, they’re only paid $5 a day! As Rick and Morty put it, “this is just slavery with extra steps.”
