Echoes of Tyranny: The Wreckage of Power

Iran, Syria, and Russia have played pivotal roles in escalating the humanitarian crisis in Syria. Since the onset of the Syrian civil war in 2011, Iran has supported Bashar al-Assad by deploying IRGC forces and allied militias, including Hezbollah, to maintain his grip on power. Qassem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds Force, was instrumental in coordinating these operations.

Russia, starting in 2015, intervened militarily with extensive airstrikes and other support to bolster Assad’s regime. These combined efforts led to widespread destruction, the displacement of millions of Syrians, and the worsening of one of the most severe humanitarian crises in modern history. The fall of Bashar al-Assad in December 2024 marks a significant shift in the region, potentially challenging Iran and Russia’s influence in Syria and altering the balance of power in the Middle East.
