The War Crimes of Benjamin Netanyahu and Yahya Sinwar

The chief prosecutor at the International Criminal Court Karim Khan has asked for arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Yoav Gallant as well as the leader of Hamas in Gaza, Yahya Sinwar, and two other senior Hamas officials, for war crimes and crimes against humanity that they have committed against innocent Israeli and Palestinian civilians.

I think the International Criminal Court has it right. I think both Netanyahu and Sinwar are perpetuating a cycle where Israeli oppression of Palestinians radicalizes Palestinians, leading to Palestinian terrorism against Israelis. This only pushed Israelis further to the right, leading to increased oppression of the Palestinians.

This cycle of oppression and terrorism just gets more innocent Israelis and Palestinians killed.

There's a lot I don't know about the history of the conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. But the one thing that I am definite is that it is wrong to target civilians, whether it's Hamas's attack against innocent Israelis on October 7 and the IDF's indiscriminate bombing of the Palestinian population and their creation of famine conditions to inflict even more suffering on the Palestinian populace.

Just get a ceasefire to stop the killings of innocent Palestinians and a return of the remaining Israeli hostages.
