The United States had "full access" to Twitter's private messages
Twitter owner Elon Musk has claimed the US government had "full access" to users' private messages.
In an interview with Fox News, to be broadcast on Tuesday, he said he was "blown away" by discovering how government agencies had access to everything that was happening on Twitter.
"I was not aware of that," he explained before stating that his comments included direct messages from users, according to The Hill newspaper.
These statements come days after the NPR station left the social network as a result of Twitter designating it as a "media funded by the US Government", a label that the medium described as "inaccurate".
