Terror Tally

Set against a backdrop of the Somali national flag, this cartoon is a comment on the mainstream media and how it deems something like a terrorist attack to be "newsworthy" based on the size of the death tally and whether it occurred in a first or third-world country.

At least 20 people were killed following a co-ordinated suicide bombing and gun battle involving Al-Shabaab extremists loyal to Al-Qaeda at a resort in Mogadishu, Somalia on Saturday.

Unlike Orlando or the Istanbul attacks, it barely struggled to make the evening news.
