Our Free Speech Hero
Ken Klippenstein recently got his hands on an internal memo about JD Vance—essentially a dossier that had been circulating within Trump’s campaign and among elite Republican circles. It breaks down the pros and cons of someone like Vance, and people are losing their minds over it. The controversy stems from the Trump campaign's claim that the memo was obtained by Iranian hackers, though they’ve provided zero evidence of that. According to the campaign, these hackers tried to shop it around to various news outlets, which chose not to run the story because it came from an bad country.
Here’s the kicker, though: the dossier isn’t even that explosive. Sure, as a leftist, there were a few eyebrow-raising moments, but from the right's perspective, it’s about as bland and tepid as these things get. What I found hilarious was the glaring omission of JD Vance’s history of misogynistic comments—the "childless cat lady" jabs—along with their complete inability to foresee that JD’s bizarre online persona would alienate just about every woman in America.
This whole episode is a déjà vu of when news outlets had their hands on the Wikileaks dump of Hillary Clinton’s emails, allegedly from Russian sources. Back then, these same outlets had no problem running with it. And they were right! The public deserves to know that kind of information, regardless of where it comes from. I don't care if the source is Russian hackers, Osama bin Laden’s ghost, or your next-door neighbor—if the info is relevant, publish it. That’s why we have the First Amendment.
Now, back to the real drama: Elon Musk and Ken Klippenstein. Klippenstein published the JD Vance memo, redacting a few personal details, and instantly found himself in the middle of a firestorm. Musk, the self-proclaimed "free speech absolutist," immediately banned Klippenstein from Twitter. This is the same Elon Musk who justified buying Twitter by railing against the suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop story, claiming that in a free society, all information should be out there. But now, with the tables turned and this memo threatening to hurt his pal Donald Trump’s chances, suddenly he’s all about censorship.
And don’t forget, Musk isn’t just any Trump fan—he’s a massive Trump super-donor. The hypocrisy here is breathtaking. The Hunter Biden story, complete with credit card info and revenge porn, is still all over Twitter, but JD Vance’s utterly bland dossier gets the boot.
ELON MUSK IS A PATHETIC HACK—ANTI-FREE SPEECH, ANTI-FREE PRESS, AND JUST A PARTISAN TOOL.
Hey, free speech warriors, where are you at? If you're not shouting about this, your principles are looking pretty suspect.
