Modern sportlavery
Forty-seven young footballers, including 36 minors, were rescued by Portuguese police in a dragnet launched against a human trafficking network linked to a training center in northern Portugal. The victims were from countries in Africa, Asia, and South America. Within Europe’s football industry alone, it is estimated there are 15,000 victims each year of what's by many considered "modern slavery"
