The attack on Charlie Hebdo, the French satirical weekly, was a shooting carried out in Paris on January 7, 2015, when two masked men armed with assault rifles and other weapons entered the magazine's offices. These fired up to 50 shots, killing twelve people and wounding eleven others while shouting "Al-lahu-àkbar" ('Allah is [the] greatest') during the attack.
