Fear of United Anger

I live in California, but in a Trump Country, and my Republican congressman (Tom McClintock) just canceled his in district hours without warning or without giving a reason why, which reminded me of all the recent GOP town halls where angry voters from both sides have shown up to voice their frustration.

People—both MAGA supporters and many others—are outraged that Elon Musk’s Doge is having a major impact on their lives due to reckless slashing. They’re also furious that Musk receives $8,000,000 a day in taxpayer subsidies, that he’s trying to take Starlink contracts that already belong to Verizon, and that he and Trump gave Tesla $400,000,000, along with many others reasons.

These voters are fed up with anti-government extremists who want to dismantle the parts of government that help regular people, just so they can raid the treasury. We all know how corrupt our politicians are, but sometimes we forget how spineless and stupid they are. The reason my congressman—and many others across the country—is avoiding his constituents is simple: they’re afraid. They won’t stand up to Musk because they fear he’ll retaliate by funding a challenger to push them out of office. These politicians don’t care about you or me. They only serve their wealthy donors—the 1%. This isn’t an exception; it’s the reality of who they are. Pathetic.
