Different perspectives on Zika virus

Brazil is warning people not to have children due to Zika virus, carried by mosquitoes, which provokes brain birth defects.
But a different view has begun to circulate, pointing out that Brazil is a major producer of Monsanto's GM soy and their pesticide could be responsible for some of the birth defects in Brazil and other countries in South America.
The question needs to be examined in depth: is this only a wacky conspiracy theory or has Zika virus become a convenient alibi for pesticide's producers?
