Samuel Beckett was an influential Irish writer, playwright and poet, born on April 13, 1906 in Foxrock, near Dublin. He studied at Trinity College Dublin, where he majored in Romance languages. In 1926, he traveled to Paris, where he came into contact with prominent writers such as James Joyce. During World War II, he was active in the French Resistance.
